Shayne Courtorielle- President & Chief Executive Officer
Shayne is of Metis descent and is a citizen of the Metis Nation of Alberta. He recently worked as a police liaison consultant with the Metis Nation of Alberta primarily with the Justice, Youth, Child and Family Services, Registry, and Community Support departments.
Before this, he was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), for 25 years. He was stationed in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Nunavut where he sat on many boards and worked with the provincial and municipal levels of government. Most of his policing career was spent working with First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples.
Throughout his time in the RCMP, he was exposed to many traumatic events. The trauma he endured eventually caught up to him and played havoc in his personal life. For years, he buried the pain as he didn’t have the tools to deal with it. Towards the end of his policing career, he sought help and was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He continues his healing journey today and believes in peeling the layers one at a time.
In his spare time, he coaches his boys hockey and baseball and continues to play hockey, baseball, and golf. He also poses as a mannequin for his daughter’s nail art.
Shayne and his beautiful and supportive wife, Stephanie, call Morinville home. They have three children, Chayse, Camryn, and Adalyn, and three cats who he loves dearly.
