Indigenous Congress of Alberta Association Announces Election of President Shawna Jean as National Vice Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples of Canada
Edmonton, AB — The Indigenous Congress of Alberta Association (ICAA) is proud to announce that our current president, Shawna Jean, has been elected as the National Vice Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) of Canada.
Shawna’s election to this significant leadership role reflects her unwavering commitment to advocating for the rights and interests of Indigenous communities across Canada. Her leadership at ICAA has been characterized by a dedication to fostering unity, promoting cultural awareness, and advancing social justice initiatives.

As National Vice Chief, Shawna will work collaboratively with Indigenous leaders from across the country to address pressing issues and advocate for the needs of urban First Nations, Métis, and southern Inuit communities. Her experience and passion will be instrumental in driving meaningful change.
